Wellington Dojo Receives Name
Amor Kaicho announces Mr Hart's new Dojo Name. During his recent visit to New Zealand, Kaicho Amor presented Sensei Warren Hart with his Dojo name. Each Dojo is presented a name which reflects the character and commitment of the Dojo Instructor. The Dojo name will often also be directly related to the Dojo Kun and Guiding Principles. In this case, Kaicho Amor had the opportunity to acquaint himself with Mr Hart during many months of dialogue via telephone and internet which culminated in meeting Mr Hart in person recently. It was during this meeting that Kaicho Amor confirmed his choice of Dojo name. Mr Hart's Dojo name recognises his commitment to discipline, a great deal of which arises from his time spent in military service. The name also recognises Mr Harts current occupation as a primary school teacher. The name "Kunrenkan" can be explained in the following manner: "Kun" represents "Words" in particular the words of the Dojo Kun. "Ren" represents the discipline achieved through training and following the Dojo Kun and Guiding Principles. "Kan" means school or academy. The full definition can be read as "The Academy where discipline is achieved through study and adherence to the Dojo Kun and Guiding Principles". The United Ryukyu Kempo Alliance wishes to congratulate Mr Hart on the receipt of his Dojo name and we look forward to seeing him develop his dojo to its fullest potential and realising the true spirit in which this name was awarded. Omodeto Gozaimasu! |
