Summer Training Camp in Oak Grove, Missouri, USA

Training Camps are a highlight of membership in the United Ryukyu Kempo Alliance.

New Zealand members currently have access to three Camps each year.

Spring and Autumn camps are held in New Zealand and are open to all Alliance members world-wide.

Summer Camp is held at the Headquarters Dojo in Oak Grove, Missouri in the United States. For the last two years, we have taken a group of students to attend Summer Camp. Will you be in next years group?

What Happens at Camp?

Training and lots of it. New Zealand Camps are based on the same format as Summer Camp. Camp begins on the Friday afternoon, continues through Saturday and finishes up on Sunday afternoon.

Aside from the training, students and Instructors get plenty of time to kick back with friends and to develop our famous "family feel".

If you're into a good workout, a chance to learn new skills, make new friends and get that Summer feel when it's Winter back in NZ, then US Summer Camp is for you!

Costs

Camps represent excellent value for money. Included in the cost of each camp will be your travel, accommodation, meals, training and commemorative camp T-Shirt.

We endeavour to keep New Zealand camp costs as low as possible.

US Summer Camp

When we travel to Summer Camp in the USA, we make it a trip worth while. We incorporate sightseeing, fun parks, shopping opportunities and additional training into the trip and we negotiate the best pricing, while retaining as much fun and comfort as possible.

We spend 10-12 days in the US. We spend 2 days travelling, 7-8 days training at Headquarters and getting some of our fun and sight-seeing done and we try to offer a 1 or 2 day extension at a popular location, because if you've come this far, you may as well go home with some amazing memories.

In 2005 & 2006 we arranged a group outing to the Worlds of Fun theme park and opportunities for shopping in Kansas City and the surrounding suburbs. In 2006, we also had a group stop-over in San Francisco for 48 hours before returning to New Zealand. For those who took this opportunity, it turned out to be a highlight of the trip.
