Sensei Standish
Sensei Standish - New Zealand Spring Camp 2005 Sensei Standish began his Ryukyu Kempo training in the mid 1990's under Mr. Rickard. After a couple of years away, Mr. Standish returned to Tauranga and continued his study. Receiving his Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt) in 2003 he continued to study Ryukyu Kempo when Mr Rickard discovered the Alliance. Mr Standish travelled to the US with Mr. Rickard in 2005 to attend the Alliance Summer Camp and also in 2006 when he successfully sat his Nidan (2nd Degree Black Belt). "It was pretty strange getting on a plane not knowing really where we were going or what these guys were like, but it had to be done..." "We both felt like beginners when we saw the standard and skill at Headquarters, we knew we had a lot of work to do but it was going to be worth it." "Looking back at where we've come from, you can't really call what we did Ryukyu Kempo, it wasn't even close - this is the real thing and nothing else even comes close."
Sensei's Quote... "Go hard or go home!" Meaning: Read it as it is... Go hard or go home! Train like you mean it, or don't train at all.
