Specialty Seminars

Kaicho Amor Teaching Seminar Training During Spring Camp 2006

Specialty Seminars are held to offer training in specialist subjects not normally covered in regular classes.

Certain Specialty Seminars are also available to people from outside our organisation.

Key Benefits

  • Seminars are taught by Instructors who are specialists in their field.
  • Students train with other students developing friendship and our popular "family feel"
  • Seminars give students the opportunity to meet, train and develop friendships with students from other classes and sometimes other countries.

Costs

As seminars are outside the normal course of classes, sometimes we have to charge an additional fee to attend.

Sometimes the fee could be a donation of food which is then passed on to an organisation such as the Salvation Army to be given to those in greater need than ourselves.

As a general rule, seminar fees are based on the actual costs of running the seminar. This could include venue hireage costs or travel costs for Instructors.

We endeavour to keep these costs as low as possible at all times.

Topics

Possible Seminar Topics:

  • Tuitejutsu (Grappling)
  • Kyushojutsu (Pressure Point Striking)
  • Kobudo (Weapons Instruction - generally on a specific weapon)
  • Advanced Kata
  • Kumite (Free-fighting for sport or touraments)
  • Shobu Kumite (Weapons sparring)
  • Bogu Kumite (Full Contact free-fighting)
  • Life Protection Techniques
