Guiding Principle 3 "Cultivate a spirit of perseverance. You will develop a healthy body if you have strength of mind and train fearlessly." Renshi Lawson from the Warrensburg, Missouri Dojo says "The hardest thing to do is to keep walking through the Dojo door..." Perseverance is the key to becoming a Black Belt in any Martial Art. The only difference between beginners and Black Belts is the ability to keep walking through the door and doing your best. "You will develop a healthy body if you have strength of mind and train fearlessly." Good Karate training will improve fitness, health and wellbeing. In Ryukyu Kempo, we are fortunate to have a comprehensive training program which when used correctly can provide nearly all your fitness needs. Fearlessness in training means to simply give everything your best. Your Instructor will not place you in an environment which is unsafe or which you are unable to handle. As a rule, Instructors say that they will never ask a student to do something they would not do themselves. In the Ryukenken Dojo, we also take care to ensure that our exercise programs are designed to be safe and use techniques which take into account each students individual abilities and physical condition.
